For over a decade I have been making this sandwich, using up my Thanksgiving leftovers. And each year I gather more and more fans along the way. It’s a special treat for those who I’m close with and if I happen to work the day after, then my coworkers are in for the best lunch of their lives.
I typically use leftover turkey, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce. But it’s not just the fillings, but the bread that makes the difference. You have to choose a bread with a crusty exterior and a soft interior. So I like ciabatta or torta rolls the most. But you can use whatever you want and especially if you take my advice of turning it into a panini!
Grocery list:
( 1 serving )
1 torta, ciabatta or french roll
2 slices turkey breast
2 tbsp gravy
2 tbsp cranberry sauce
4 tbsp stuffing
- Slice your roll into two lengthwise.
- Spread the gravy on to the bottom bread piece.
- Add the turkey slices on top.
- Then layer the stuffing on the turkey.
- Spread the cranberry sauce on to the top bread slice.
- Now sandwich it all together and eat as is, or even better, use a panini press and crisp up both sides for the best sandwich ever!
